Jake Weimer and the SmarTop/Bullfrog Spas/MotoConcepts/Honda team have confirmed that Weimer suffered a broken wrist and two broken metacarpal bones in his right wrist-hand after a crash in the day’s practice session. This comes three weeks into Weimer’s return from arm injuries in a preseason practice crash.

We spoke with Team Manager Tony Alessi during the afternoon and he told us that it would take some time for the wrist injury to recovery, but that there are no requirements that the team field all three riders in the 450 class and that there is currently no plan for a fill-in rider.

I don’t really know what to say. Broken wrist and my middle 2 metacarpal bones one the top of my hand. Stupid crash that wasn’t even bad. I’ll get everything evaluated on Monday and go from there. Bummer for my sponsors and team. Thanks to everyone for the support. P/c @motoxaddictscom
